Futures has a commitment to being an eco friendly school. We are working towards our Green Flag award and have both our Bronze and Silver certificates. Our Eco committee meet regularly and includes students from all year groups, parents and staff. Under Lockdown we have gone online and have been using Google Meets to meet up and move our campaign forward.

We have progressed our Water initiative by submitting to the international BIEA “STEM the tide competition” innovative ideas for machines to clear rubbish from water courses.

Our litter initiative is on hold as the Big School Clean has been delayed until September but we have had success with designing new bins to improve recycling rates.

We are continuing to work remotely on improving our school grounds. The year 9s are going to be designing gardens as part of the RHS Secret Garden competition and we hope to develop links with local gardeners and allotment keepers.
