Year 9 students on the Futures Institute pathway entered the RAF Museum Virtual Glider Challenge. The students did the online lessons provided by the museum in advance of the competition day. We were incredibly lucky to have the RAF Youth and Stem engagement team remotely supporting our preparations on Google meet and actually in school on the day of the event. We joined the event remotely and with the museum online on our big screen in the hall. Chief Technician Chris and Corporal Robin helped the students improve on their prototypes and flew their gliders to compete for the longest distance.
The students also all prepared a presentation that they delivered to the STEM ambassadors and completed their CREST passports. All students have been awarded a CREST Discovery Award.
