Banbury Aspirations Campus are introducing a new catering payments system which will launch on Monday 1st November 2021. Between the start of term and Friday 22nd October we will be operating cash payment only for canteen purchases whilst we install the new system.
The new system will continue to allow you to make payments for your child’s lunch via the School Gateway app, but it will be a monetary amount rather than pre-selecting menu choices and paying for them as previously. This will allow your child to select what they want to eat in the canteen, offering them greater choice as we return to an expanded lunch menu as well as breakfast and break service. We have set a daily limit of £6.00 per child. Please note, you will no longer be able to pay for your child’s lunch using cash so it is extremely important you follow the instructions below.
In order to protect the funds you have put on to your child’s School Gateway account we will operating a unique identification biometric system to pay at the till using your child’s fingerprint, this will ensure only your child can access their payment account and is therefore more secure than a system which operates with a card or pin number. You can rest assured that the fingerprint images cannot be used by any other source for identification purposes other than paying for your child’s lunch. The system uses an image of the finger to create a mathematical algorithm and then discards the finger image; only the numbers remain and these cannot be reinterpreted back into a finger image.
In order to do this, we need a completed consent form (which has been sent to you) so that we can scan your child’s fingerprint for the biometric database.
If you have yet to do so, it is also imperative that you register with School Gateway our school communication and payments system, as if you are not signed up you will not be able to pay for your child’s lunch. You are able to put money on your child’s School Gateway account using a credit card, debit card or Paypoint vouchers. Please follow the instructions below to guide you through the registration process for School Gateway.
